1. Overview
Favopolo is a private, offline-first application for recording and organizing personal ratings. Favopolo does not require an account. The developer does not operate a server that receives or stores your ratings, notes, photos, audio recordings, or backups.
2. Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use the app, Favopolo may store the following information locally on your device:
- Items, ratings, tags, notes, descriptions, prices, calories, producers, sellers, and dates;
- Places, addresses, and geographic coordinates associated with ratings;
- Photos and audio recordings that you choose to add; and
- App settings and locally generated statistics.
This information remains on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share it, or use a feature that contacts a third-party service as described below.
3. Device permissions
3.1 Location
Favopolo may request approximate and precise location permission. Location is used only when you activate a location feature, such as finding your current location, attaching a place to a rating, displaying nearby ratings, or playing entries based on proximity.
Favopolo does not request background-location permission, does not access location for advertising, and does not continuously track your movements while the app is not in use. You can deny or revoke location permission in Android settings. Features that depend on location may then be unavailable.
3.2 Camera and media
Camera access is used only when you choose to take a photo or video for an entry. Selected or captured media is stored locally as part of your Favopolo data.
3.3 Microphone
Microphone access is used only when you choose to create an audio recording. Recordings are stored locally as part of your Favopolo data. Favopolo does not listen in the background.
3.4 Files and folders
On supported Android versions, Favopolo may access files or a folder that you explicitly select so that you can export or restore a backup. Favopolo does not scan unrelated files on your device.
4. Network use and third-party services
Favopolo uses the following external services for specific features:
4.1 OpenStreetMap Nominatim
When Favopolo converts your current coordinates into a human-readable address, the app sends the latitude and longitude to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The service also receives technical connection information such as your IP address and user agent. This request occurs only when you use the relevant location feature.
4.2 OpenStreetMap map tiles
When you open a map, the visible map area is requested from OpenStreetMap tile servers. Those servers receive technical connection information, including your IP address, and the requested tile coordinates, which indicate the map area being viewed.
4.3 Google Play and Android services
Google Play distributes the app and processes purchases. Android and Google Play Services may provide system functionality such as location and permission handling. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Favopolo does not currently include advertising, developer-operated analytics, or developer-operated cloud synchronization.
5. Exporting, backing up, and sharing
Favopolo lets you export or restore the local database and media files. An export occurs only after you initiate it and select a destination or sharing app. Once exported, the files are outside Favopolo's private app storage and are controlled by you and by any storage or sharing provider you select.
Exported backups may contain ratings, notes, places, precise coordinates, photos, and audio recordings. Backup files may not be encrypted. Store them securely and share them only with services and people you trust.
6. How information is used
Information processed by Favopolo is used to:
- Create, display, search, filter, and organize your entries;
- Show maps, addresses, nearby entries, statistics, and recommendations within the app;
- Attach photos, videos, and audio recordings to entries; and
- Export or restore data when you request it.
The developer does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
7. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete an entry, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Files that you exported or backed up remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete them there. Third-party services may retain request information under their own policies.
8. Security
Favopolo relies on Android's application storage protections and uses HTTPS for the network requests described above. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device and any exported backup files.
9. Children's privacy
Favopolo is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the developer, contact us using the address below.
10. Your choices
You can:
- Grant or deny camera, microphone, and location permissions;
- Revoke permissions at any time in Android settings;
- Edit or delete entries within Favopolo;
- Export a copy of your local data; and
- Delete all local app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
